tuxedo nails

I have been wanting to do this manicure forever! I finally got a chance this week and I am loving them… here is how to do these:

1. First paint white towards the top of your nails. I didn’t do a full coat because I didn’t want the manicure to be really thick.

IMG_30392. Use a striper to paint the lines for the black suit. I used my Orly black striper.

IMG_23323. Fill in your black lines. I use China Glaze’s Liquid Leather.

how-to: the perfect ballerina bun

A ballerina bun is not only super stylish and in right now, but it’s also one of the easiest and fastest hairstyles to create. Follow along this tutorial to pull it off perfectly every time!

We used a pre-made mesh circle from H&M ($5 in the impulse accessory bin by the registers) but you can also use a sock (learn how here).

Start with straight, sleek hair.

Pull hair into a high ponytail.

Grab the mesh circle and pull the ponytail through the center.

Pull the ponytail straight up and bring the mesh circle towards the end.

Fold the ends over and around the mesh circle, covering all parts and rolling the circle back down.

Keep rolling the hair and circle down towards your head, making sure to get all the ends in the bun.

Use bobby pins to secure any flyaway ends.

And there ya go! Easy, fast, looks great every time.
